ONC/ASTP created the health data interoperability roadmap to enable health care data exchange between health information technology (HIT) systems. Regional and national initiatives are underway to further this goal. With the need to address health-related social needs (HRSN), ONC/ASTP’s Project Gravity was born a few years ago. It continues to make strides in codifying HRSN data into various health data standards. Such progress has allowed health technology companies to analyze diverse data sets, understand the comprehensive profile of consumers, and direct their care coordination efforts. Innovative companies embrace this opportunity to make a big difference in operational improvement, care delivery, and disease monitoring using artificial intelligence (AI). This panel will discuss regional priorities vs. national standards and how use of AI can impact health outcomes.
2. Discuss opportunities and progress made in broader data exchange focusing on HRSN data.
3. Discuss, once this data exchange issue is resolved, how technologies like AI can further the goal of improving care coordination and outcomes.
