In one of the nation’s biggest and most complex states, California’s Data Exchange Framework (DxF) has achieved the first stage of advancing health information sharing through the development of guiding policies and procedures, implementation of participant agreements, alignment of internal programs to incentivize adoption, establishment of a network of qualified health information organizations, and the creation of a data sharing participant directory. With a combination of presentation and interactive panel, this session will share lessons - including how states can align with and build from federal standards - and look toward the future, including insights on what’s next, from improving data quality, measuring outcomes, advancing social service data collection and sharing, and embracing whole person care across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial populations. This session is for health, government, and social service leaders who are interested in exploring ways to meaningfully share and engage data in complex environments.
