Description

With the adoption of the California Data Exchange Framework (DxF) in 2021, California, the nation’s largest state, mandated the secure exchange of health and social services information among private and public health care organizations to support the delivery of informed and effective health care. The DxF seeks to break historical and persistent barriers to data exchange – requiring the adoption of common data exchanges Policies and Procedures, qualifying health information intermediaries to effectively facilitate exchange, and fostering public-private partnerships to put data to use – to improve the health of every Californian. How can it be strengthened and improved? In this session, we will hear from public and private leaders about how the DxF is changing California’s systems of health, where it continues to face barriers to progress, and how success and impact at the point-of-care can be measured.
