Description
Civitas members are working on “wicked problems”, such as complex systems changes. These complex issues cannot be owned by any single organization or even any single sector, meaning that collaboration is required to be successful. Most leaders say they are seeking to collaborate with others, however, this often means they are looking for others to collaborate on their own terms.
Presentation Learning Objectives
1) Attendees will gain an understanding of why system changes require collaboration.
2) Attendees will be able to define collaboration and differentiate five different approaches to inter-organizational engagements.
3) Attendees will describe strategies for cultivating collaboration based on lessons learned from a large, established multi-sector coalition.
