Description

Paso Del Norte Health Information Exchange (PHIX) is a non-profit HIE in El Paso, Texas. In addition to PHIX’s core services as an HIE, PHIX also collaborates with partners and community leaders to improve community health outcomes through innovative technology and analytics. This includes the development and implementation of a regional syndromic surveillance system that allows for real-time data analysis and disease trend prediction to support the identification and management of emerging health care trends, supporting data-driven strategies and interventions. PHIX plans to share its approach to establishing, maintaining, and collaborating with partners across sectors to build systems of health. This will include a review of PHIX's local syndromic surveillance system, the committees and governance established, and the uses cases of success using the system. This includes a review of disease trending, disease forecasting, the overlay of medical and non-medical data, and more.

1) Evaluate the value of community driven processes for establishing data sharing model across sectors to support public health.
2) Evaluate the value of community data sharing including clinical and social determinant of health data to support population health analysis and planning.
3) Evaluate the opportunity to develop predictive models for early identification of health trends
