Date & Time
Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Description

Through a strategic partnership between Comagine Health, Boise State University, and BeyondHIE, five organizations have come together to conduct surveillance work for the CDC to track the burden, distribution, and impact of post COVID-19 conditions across diverse populations in the US over a five-year period. The panel speakers represent four of the five organizations that collaborate on this work. As members of BeyondHIE, two HIEs – Utah Health Information Network and Bronx RHIO – supply data for socioeconomically diverse cohorts from contrasting areas of the country. BSU public health investigators contribute expertise on biostatistics, epidemiology, surveillance, and workforce development and work in tandem with Comagine Health data analysts before the data is transmitted to the National Coordinating Center.

Presentation Learning Objectives
The presentation will use this surveillance effort as an example to argue the value case for partnership in health surveillance. Conversation will demonstrate how connections across different types of health organizations allow each organization to bring their expertise to the process and contribute to work that would not have been possible without a broad network of partners with the same aim of improving health and the health care system.
